Conversation of the Day

Guy: "Hey, hey! Haven't seen you in a while!"
Guy 2: "OMG. I know! I've been sooooo busy."
G: "Are you working today? I was going to come visit you in your new office."
G2: "Um, yeah, sure. I'm all the way in the back office. I think all our spaces are rented out today." (What? does he work in a bath house?)
G: "Cool. Cool."
G2: (feeling pressured to keep up the conversation) "And what about you? Whatr'ya up to these days?"
G: "WELL! "They" want me to redesign the pool at The Roosevelt."
G2: (pausing for a moment) "The Roosevelt...hotel? On Hollywood Blvd?"
G: (looking somewhat 'caught' and wishing he hadn't told such an obvious lie.) "Uh...yeah, you know. We've been talking."
G2: "But didn't they just redesign the whole thing?"
G: "Oh, yes, yes. Um, you know, in a few years they want to start talking about it again. You know!"
G2: (starting to throw names around). "Yeah, but I thought they just finished renovating all that a while ago...You know, Amanda Demme?"
G: "Oh sure, sure! Yes, I mean, it's in the future but we hang out. She's just so sweet!"
G2: 'Who?"
G: (feeling superior again) "The Manager, Amanda Demme. We hang out. She's sooooo sweet."
G2: "Okay, well I'll stop by later. You'll be there?"
G: "Totally. See you later!"
